Color Guard & Winter Guard

The Color Guard is a part of the Silver Spirit Marching Band. This unit learns to perform challenging choreography as well as develops skills with equipment, such as Flags, Rifles, and Sabres. Members of the Colorguard learn dance fundamentals and provide part of the "Wow" factor for the marching band competition show.

Winter Guard is a continuation of Color Guard after the completion of the marching band's competition season. This ensemble learns a competition show and competes in an indoor marching arts program called CWEA (Carolina Winter Ensemble Association). Dutch Fork's Winter Guard is called "Emerald". Students continue to develop their performance, dance and equipment skills.

Color Guard/Winter Guard is now available as a class at Dutch Fork High School. Be sure to ask your guidance counselor how to sign up! Students can earn Physical Education credit for the class!
